At Bird Rock Farm, we work hard to breed and raise superior cattle, selecting only the finest of the finest for optimal results. We utilise low-stress handling techniques and raise our animals in open pastures within a familiar herd structure. Find out more about our process below.

Here at Bird Rock Farm, we are passionate about bringing you quality grass-fed beef, and we want our customers to know exactly where their meat has come from. Find out about our process below. 

Breeding and selection
At Bird Rock Farm, we select the best bloodlines from which to breed and raise our animals, placing a strong emphasis on temperament and genetics. Our animals are 100% grass-fed and finished, meaning we don't cut corners by introducing grain feed later in the process. Our cattle are handled frequently to gauge their development, and we pick the best of the best for processing.
Quality assurance
We take quality assurance seriously, and understand that it involves dedication to continuous improvement. We and our suppliers follow stringent quality and safety standards throughout all steps of the process, to ensure you receive a high quality product.
Slaughter and boning
We engage a trusted local abattoir to process our cattle using safe and humane methods. The meat is then aged for fourteen days before boning of the meat is carried out locally.
Delivery
We want your order to reach you promptly and in pristine condition! This is why we manage all our deliveries in-house, with set dates for delivery to each region. Our friendly and professional drivers take great pride in delivering top notch service.

It's better for you

Grass-fed and finished beef contains higher levels of antioxidants, omega 3’s, beta-carotene, and selenium, all of which are great for your health and are cancer-fighting heroes. It is also free from antibiotics and growth hormones, making it a much healthier option.

Many people describe grass-fed beef as having a more robust and complex flavour. It is also incomparably tender, and cooks up beautifully with minimal shrinkage, retaining its shape better than grain-fed beef.

Our cattle live a pretty blissful existence here at Bird Rock Farm. With lots of space to move around and plenty of food to eat at their leisure, it’s a slower process but one that is more natural and much more kind to the animals. Plus, a grass-based diet is better for their health and happiness.

At Bird Rock Farm, we take a holistic approach to farming. We use sustainable practices to create good, healthy soil and an excellent variety of grasses for our cattle.
